5 Extremely Easy Ways To Beat The Monday Blues

Sharing is caring!

On Sunday nights, I used to feel like one having the last bite of a sweet pie. Don’t blame me! I dreaded Monday because it represented the beginning of a week of boring routine that required me to get up as early as 4 a.m, make breakfast for my family, drop my kid at school and get to work- need I mention the part where I get to see my annoying boss!

After a long time of bearing Mondays, I realized that most of my feelings about Mondays stemmed from my mindset. If l could change my mindset about this day, I could actually go from bearing it to loving it and who knows, maybe calling it my best day of the week, after weekends of cause!

If l could make the switch from considering my Mondays annoyingly boring days to seeing them as the first day of the week to start afresh and start implementing my plans, you can do the same. There are however 5 tips you have to know to make this a possibility.

1.  Set The Right Tone For Your Day

How you feel when you wake up goes a long way to set the tone for what your day will look like. So it is important that you start your day in a good mood. You can make it a routine to play your favorite songs when you get out of bed. I have my own collection of morning jams, some of which are: “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce, “A thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton and “Hello, Good Morning” by Diddy. You also might know some songs that put you in a great mood, if you do, try to play such songs on the morning of Mondays.

2.  Get Prepared For Monday On Sundays

Sunday is a good time to arrange your outfit for Monday and the rest of the weekdays. Like I said in one of my recent blog posts 10 Things To Do At The Weekend For A More Productive Week, the weekend is an ideal time to prepare for the forthcoming week because it allows you the opportunity to do things at your comfort, unlike weekdays that are usually choked up with so many activities.

3.  Do Something Memorable

To make your Mondays special, try to do things that you will look forward to. Here are some examples of memorable things you can do on Mondays: plan a date, read a new book or watch a new movie. I love the idea of watching a new movie with friends on Monday, it is one of the things that keeps me excited about the day.

4.  Wear A Dress You Love

There is nothing like being comfortable in your own skin. Dressing yourself to your taste allows you the pleasure of being able to express yourself like you want without fear of what people think of you. This comfort you feel, however small it might seem, adds a little color to your day.

5.  Sleep Early On Sunday, So You Can Wake Early

Monday blues meaning

There is a saying that goes thus – “early to bed, early to rise”. What this means is, if you want to be up on your feet early enough on Monday morning, you should make conscious efforts to sleep early, so you can rise up early in preparation for your day. I have come to realize that whenever I sleep late, I always wake up late and that somehow messes up my day because I find myself struggling to keep up with the little time I have left.

I have shared my thoughts with you, do not be limited to mine alone, decide for yourself other ways to make your Mondays worthwhile.
